IMPRESSIVE aims to contribute to the overall sustainability of ports (in the GreenPort framework) by implementing a complete supply chain for the evaluation of the environmental conditions in ports.
IMPRESSIVE aims to provide improved risk management in EU ports and coastal areas, safer activity and better corporate image for all industries operating in these areas, as well as new capacities for detecting illegal polluting activities. It is worth mentioning that revenues obtained from the latter could become an interesting feedback for better port management and new services.
IMPRESSIVE aims to enhance industry competitiveness and its value-chain in the global market, thanks to job creation and technology transfer of new skilled workers and companies with EO-data exploitation expertise, able to support Port authorities with quasi-real time data elaboration, including EO data. The need for new innovative skills (e.g. related to satellite data experts) for the specific application in Ports will contribute to create a new value chain in which the synergies among different stakeholders (port authorities, companies, researchers) will be addressed in an innovative and challenging way.
IMPRESSIVE solution is expected to move European harbors management towards a worldwide leadership. On the other hand, partners’ developments and know-how acquisition during the action will be exportable to harbors and coastal areas all over the world. The IMPRESSIVE product thus aspires to a global market with strong expectations of success.
